My adventures as a new homeowner

Ummmm... is it spring already? How come my irises are budding? There are a bunch of 2 inch buds peeking out of the ground. One of the buds is over 6 inches now. This is crazy! I wonder what will happen when (this is inevitable) the snow blankets the ground. What about trees? Do the sugar maples start running sap? Will there be 2 layers of bark this year so the trees will have an extra ring? This is so messed up.
